Hello there!

My name is Lisa Kelleher and I am the Founder and CEO of The Learning Loft.

The conceiving idea for our education support service stems from my lengthy experience working in training facilitation and teaching in the classroom and my observation that many of my students were lacking in confidence when trying to communicate in English. I found myself thinking about how I could create a learning environment that would simultaneously boost their confidence, but also help their language retention and overall ability to reach their language acquisition goals. I realised that what they really needed was to immerse themselves in the language, but do so whilst also utilising other competencies, whereby they could demonstrate more confidence. The obvious skill appeared to be - technology!

This prompted me to reflect on my own professional and educational background to see if I could marry my own experiences in education and technology and create a programme that would really engage students and help them to retain and enjoy what they were learning. I developed a 'Digital Storytelling' programme, which requires students to create a multimedia presentation in English from the initial storyboard  development to their class presentation of their digtal product.

I am a firm believer in  the benefits of technology in education, however, sweeping advances have reshaped our opinions and escalated our concerns as educators and parents. This prompted me to examine what does innovative education look like and how can we retain the best practice of the classroom in the age before technology,  whilst still forging ahead to achieve better language outcomes, preparing students for a very competitive workplace.  This principle has supported my curriculum development work and the overall pedagogical approach of The Learning Loft, ensuring that we can establish real learning goals, that can be accurately assessed and measured by educators, without the threat of AI influenced outcomes.

We are an Italian-based company and  provide our onsite education support services to individual students, schools, universities and  independent learning institutions. 

We have extensive experience in language competency exams including Cambridge and IELTS and mentoring students. We are based in Turin and work predominantly in the Piedmont area but are available to work in a  hybrid/online capacity in other regions.
